TrilioneGlenn Davis    December 20, 2012
Trainer Desleigh Forster's magic touch prevailed again when former Sydneysider Trilione scored a dominant win in her Queensland debut at Eagle Farm on Wednesday.
Trilione was formerly trained by Joe Pride at Warwick Farm but had shown little with only three wins from 23 starts.
She won one race in the care of Anthony Cummings and two for Pride. The daughter of Lion Heart had her last start for Pride finishing last in a field of eight in a 1200-metre Benchmark 80 race at Warwick Farm on November 10.
The six-year-old had only been in Forster's care for less than a month when she led all the way for a commanding half length win in a 1200-metre Class Three Plate at Eagle Farm.
She is owned by former Labor politician Con Sciacca, prominent businessmen Joe Richards and former Queensland Turf Club committeeman, Tony Williams.
Forster's personal touch with her horses has seen her emerge with one of the best strike rates of any trainer in the country.
She is having one of her best ever seasons and hopes to extend her luck when she heads to Sydney with stable stars Adebisi and Poste Restante.
Adebisi will be ridden by High Bowman in the Listed Razor Sharp Stakes at Warwick Farm on Saturday while former Kiwi mare Poste Restante will line up in the Summer Cup (2400m) at Randwick on Boxing day.
The pair were due to travel to Sydney on Thursday night.
"It's a great feeling to win with a former Sydney horse having her first start for my stable," Forster said.
"I've only had her three or four weeks and she looks a nice mare.
"I think she can make the grade in Brisbane and I'm looking at bigger things for her."
Forster intends giving Trilione one more run before putting her away for the Brisbane winter carnival.
"I don't think it is aiming too high with this mare to target some of the fillies and mares race during the winter carnival," she said.
Meanwhile Forster is hopeful of a strong performance from Adebisi in the Razor Sharp.
"He's been going well and I'm overlooking his last run when he got bogged down under his big weight in the George Moore," she said.
"He should run a big race so long as he travels down well.
"Luckily he's with a seasoned traveller like Poste Restante."
